Melting Characteristics of Multipiece Steel Scrap in Liquid Steel

Based on the analysis of single-bar melting experiments in a previous article,1) effect spacing between steel bars agglomeration shells around and rate scrap samples was studied this article. In addition, calculation model time electric arc furnace under different bulk densities random stacking conditions also established. The two-bar experimental results show that thermal simulation are basically consistent with numerical results. And an increase up to 6 mm preheating temperature 1073 K, can greatly reduce or eliminate adverse process, thus reducing time. multibar porosity is beneficial samples, when reached 0.84 above, close individual bar. accurately predict furnace.
